The possibilities are endless, and the same goes for the timers, the clocks, the stopwatches, or the birthdays. Birthdays, for instance, can have their own icon, notes, color, and group, and can trigger sophisticated reminders that may include a countdown timer in a floating window, can wake up your computer from the sleep mode if necessary, and give you heads-up two weeks earlier.
